Step 1 – Set Boundaries

Setting boundaries can be difficult especially if you’re a people pleaser.  When you don’t set boundaries, you give permission for others to take advantage of you, and this can leave you feeling tired or depleted.  It’s time to draw the line in the sand.  Once you let family and friends know what’s no longer acceptable, they will either respect your boundaries or walk away.  Sticking to your boundaries will let family and friends know you mean business and they will think twice before crossing the line.

Step 2 – Listen to Your Heart

Listen to your heart it knows what’s best.  You may not trust your heart because you were taught that others know what’s best for you.  When you were a kid it was important to listen to authority figures for safety, but now that you’re an adult it’s time to listen to the guidance from your heart.  Give yourself permission to trust your heart it will not steer you wrong.

Step 3 – Take Heart Aligned Action

Taking heart aligned action will save you time, energy, and frustration.  Pain and discomfort comes when you second guess yourself, and your mind talk you out of achieving your dreams and goals.  Don’t wait till the end of life to say “I should of went for it” take heart aligned action now so you can be Your Best True Self.

Step 4 – Let Go of Other People’s Opinions

Letting go of other people’s opinions may be the biggest hurdle to overcome while becoming Your Best True Self.  We want to do the right thing and it matters what other people think.  Let’s face it we were conditioned as kids to care about what others think so we could fit in socially.  The problem arises when you only listen to outside opinions instead of your heart.  Too many opinions causes confusion and that’s the fastest path to becoming stuck. When listening to other people’s opinions take what resonates and toss out the rest.

Step 5 – Stand in Your Truth

Standing in your truth will allow you to become Your Best True Self.  Taking a stand is powerful because it signifies what you believe in and you will not let others sway your course.  This new-found power will cause discomfort in others, because their true self will begin to rumble demanding to be set free.  If the rumblings are too great, then those around you will give opinions as to why you shouldn’t stand in your truth.  You may lose people along the way, but if you think of a rocket taking off it must lose pieces that are not needed to soar high into the sky.
